For as long as I can remember I wanted to visit Harewood House,
in Tooradin but it is only open to the public occasionally.
Driving past a couple of months ago was a sign out the front
with open house 16th February 2014, a date that was firmly set in my diary.
These first photos are where William and Annabella Lyall with
their young family lived, next to the stables,
before the much larger house was built in 1865-68.
Inside ladies were dressed in period costume with lots of clothing
left with the house from the original owners.
Upstairs there was demonstrations os spinners,
tapestry and beading.
While outside there was this huge cacti that was just starting to flower,
will be just stunning in a week or so.
Also on offer outside wasmorning and afternoon tea as well as lunch.
Displays of Highland Dancing with bagpipes.
All proceeds from the day went to the KooWeeRup Hospital.
Thank you for visiting
Julie
Ooh perfect wish I had known about this …what a beautiful day out.
Weather was perfect, not to hot like it has been.
