A fun day AQC!

Yesterday myself with along two friends

headed for a fun day at the

Australasian Quilt Convention in the

Royal Exhibition Building.

As no-one had a shopping list we could spend the day

perusing all the stands at our leisure,

of course there are always favourites

and purchases were made by all three of us.

Stopped by The Patchwork Tea House

where A. found some fat quarters from the new Tilda range.

And later on added to them with these.

Also stopped by Sewing’n’Beyond, a very pretty

and beautifully set up display.

The beautifully presented Field of Flowers kit.

Also caught up with The Quilted Crow Girls.

Where A. couldn’t resist this kit as she had missed out on

A Gathering in the Barn due to illness.

And I couldn’t resist these skinny fat quarter repros.

As always the quilts look much better

in real life than photos.

Field of Flowers!

The release of Field of Flowers will be at

Sewing ‘n’ Beyond, Stand 39

at the Australasian Quilt Convention held in

Melbourne this month.

It is available as a pattern or as a kit.

Along with many of my patterns.

Or maybe you would like to meet the author of the

Australian Challenge Quilt Series novel: –

Margaret A Rowe and purchase an autographed copy of any of the three novels.

Also at Sewing ‘n’ Beyond Stand 39.

Hope to see you there!

Location, Location, Location!

Sunday morning was spent looking for locations

to photograph this new quilt.

First it was to the Mornington foreshore.

Many people out for an early morning walk,

no chance for photos here.

Then it was on to the Mornington Botanical Rose Garden,

much time was spent just walking around this vast array of roses

which is completely maintained by volunteers.

After a stack of photos taken the final

decision came down to these two.

Maybe I’ll use both.

Sample Quilt

Some time ago I was asked to make a sample quilt

using one of my patterns for

Sewing ‘n’ Beyond in Rosebud.

Started with some 4 patch.

Then some half square triangles.

The quilt top was completed and sent to the quilter to be quilted.

Next post I will show photos for the pattern cover

and more info about this quilt.
