Last Saturday I attended the first meeting of
The Applique Guild of Australia
Mornington Peninsula Chapters very first meeting.
A great venue was found with plenty of light.
With about twenty attending, it was a fabulous day
spent with some very talented ladies.
Some beautiful quilts were on display for show and tell.
As Sew in Love with Fabric & Threads is closing tomorrow,
this small collection of fabrics made their way home with me.
Do I need more fabric you ask, of course I do,
I’m adding to my stash.
Great selection of black, grey and white.
Love these.
And these will go great with my other 30’s fabrics.

After Baltimore Garden class on Monday at
Palm Beach Quilting, Maureen showed me a new range
that had just come in. Hard to resist and ended up
coming home with these.

This grand mansion is in the suburbs of Melbourne
on fourteen acres of manicured lawns and gardens.
Saturday was the Peninsula Quilters Patchworkers Quilt-In,
managed to get there after finishing a class in the morning.
Around 280 people turned up for a day of sewing, guest speakers
and a trading mall.

The whole of Victoria shivered through yesterday,
with a bitter blast in the afternoon and
with snow down to 400mts above sea level.
I managed to capture a few pics of the hailstones
in a carpark at Rosebud.
Yesterday we visited the beautiful Rippon Lea Estate,
for the exhibition of
The detail on some of the gowns was amazing and all by hand of course.

Many, many years ago one of the classes I was teaching
at a number of patchwork stores was a cushion making class.
These were popular fabrics of that time and this class ran
every term for a few years. One of my students was Maureen,
still has the cushions that were made all those years ago
and now has her own patchwork store.
When Maureen recently suggested that we revamp the cushion
making class I jumped at the chance and this is the end result.
The class is booked for next month and although the samples are made in black,
you can choose any colour you wish and are exclusive to Palm Beach Quilting.
One of this weeks classes was the continuation of Roses to Di for
at Sew in Love with Fabric and Thread.
Anne has nearly completed all four blocks.
