Decisions & Choices!

Before I get left behind too far with the mystery quilt which is already

at the 2nd week, I had to decide on fabrics.

This year I really wanted to use something different from the suggested colours.

Finally I am going with this as my constant

and I should have enough if I want to use this for the binding

depending how big it ends up,

as for the remaining fabric selection they will be chosen as needed.

I’ll spend a few hours this afternoon stitching these units together

and hopefully some of the four patch from week one.

Using my trusty little Husqvarna from the seventies.

AQM – Australian Quilt Market!

Last weekend was spent at AQM,

catching up with lots of lovely store owners

and meeting new ones from here in Australia & overseas.

One of my latest designs “Primrose Manor” was on display

created from the latest Tilda range “Bumblebee”.

Finished quilts & Show and Tell!

It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of October

and yet we still need the heater going.

Overnight temps as low as 3°C with rain, hail and some places snow.

Stitching by the fire

The perfect weather to be inside stitching.

This quilt just back from the quilter needs to be bound.

And another day, another quilt that needs binding.

Some wildlife from the Aussie bush, where we are staying.

The kangaroo has a joey in her pouch but unfortunately didn’t come out for us to see.

The magpies are residents that we see all the time.

Today being rainy/sunny and struggling to reach double figures for much of the day,

Weather Station 13-7-16

is the perfect day to be inside by the fire stitching the binding.

(A chilly 3·7°c outside & a comfortable 18·7°c inside.)

Kits will be available from The Patchwork Tea House,

from either their website or one of the many shows they will be visiting over the next few months.

Bright new fabrics!

Over the last four months I have been busy designing and creating

new patterns for a trade show next month,

hence the lack of blog posts.

Although I can’t show the pattern pics of these new designs yet,

a few snippets of fabrics etc can be.

AMQ Festival!

For many, many months Maureen from

Palm Beach Quilting and I have been collaborating

on one of many projects we hope to work on together.

This one is for release at the AMQ Festival in Adelaide.

Much time has been spent pouring over

my library of quilt designs, fabric swatches and colour cards.

Bolts of fabric were ordered and soon began to arrive.

I spent many nights completing this new design and

have now handed it to Maureen to quilt

(which as writing this, have heard the quilting is completed)

and bind before I get to

photograph it for the new pattern.

Just a small snippet of a corner before its release later this month.
