Hi, I’m Julie. I live in Victoria, Australia with my wonderfully supportive husband and computer wizz son. Ever since I can remember I’ve always had a love of fabrics and design. My Mother tells a story of before I started school, I would cut up scraps of fabric would ask her to sew and before she could work out what I was doing, a dolls dress was created. At Secondary School I lived for the days with needlecraft as well as pattern designing and drafting. It was then that I had my first taste of patchwork. After leaving school I worked in all aspects of the fashion industry.
In 1997 I joined a patchwork group at a local Community Centre where I met many like minded ladies and continued to go to many years. The year 2000 saw many changes, being asked to design a quilt, to teach and write patterns for a local patchwork shop was just the start. Designing soon became a passion and teaching these designs is an absolute pleasure. My first love is needleturn applique and 3 dimensional flowers, although I have created many pieced quilts I always make my way back to applique.
