Another project I have been busy working on was

Laurel Cottage, a medallion style Block of the Month.

Yes I know the quilt top was already completed

but I decided I didn’t like the different coloured check borders.

 

 

In my original drawing the check borders were all green.

After lots of unpicking the mauve and turquoise check

borders were removed and replaced with the same green check

 as the outside border that I was lucky to find, also purchased extra

just in-case I want to bind it with the same check.

 

 

 

 

The check borders now look more complete.

The reason behind all these changes was to prepare the quilt top for quilting

and while working with the fabrics I made the label to match,

 

 

(as I always do) and stitch it to the backing fabric before quilting.

 

 

Laurel Cottage was also a class a little while ago,

I have seen one completed which can be seen here.
