Last Fridays Class!

Last week Jackie started to cut out a kit containing

this cute owl panel. There was also a matching panel.

The fabric was more like a linen, as was the other

co-ordinating fabrics in the kit.

Cindy was finishing off the last few rows and the pieced borders.

Lost Blocks!

Earlier this month, when we attended

‘Quilts in the Barn’ we saw a number of quilts with the schoolhouse block.

I was reminded that I had received some of these blocks

at a retreat some time ago. (Six blocks in total)

You received one ticket for every block you entered and

there was quite a few sets of six or nine blocks.

Now where were they? And when was that retreat?

After much searching, I managed to find them, along with

the drawing and template pattern complete with straight grain lines.

Not something you see on patterns every day.

Also with the pattern was the retreat information. As it was being held

at a local boarding school, the theme was

‘Back to school’ in September 2003.

At the time these weren’t a favorite block, so got left,

put away and forgotten about, until I saw how beautiful they

could look. Must be time that they finally become part of a quilt.

Just have to find the right setting and maybe add some more blocks.

I’m sure I have some fabric from the same time

as these were made.

A Stunning Garden!

Before heading to Terang Cottage Crafts a gloriously sunny

Sunday morning, I managed to take a look

around the garden of our hosts.

Week-end Event!

Early last Saturday morning driving through Melbourne,

we spied some hot air balloons making their way across

the skyline. Snapped a couple of shots through

 the windscreen of the car.

Arrived at Terang Cottage Crafts at the Courthouse.

 Very cute!

Managed to take a few photos around this gorgeous shop

before setting up my own quilt display in one of the many rooms

in this beautiful old building. A great chance to meet and talk

to many of the local patchworkers over the weekend.

A big thankyou must go to Julie, Lynette, Margaret, Dorothy and all

of the fellow patchworkers for making us welcome for the weekend.

Pictures are different front and back and the inside too.

This one needed to come home with me as well.

Jackie completed her two star quota.

Deb has completed this version of Illusions.
