Update on Fridays class

Haven’t posted any photos from my Friday class for a while,

just a peak at what they have been up to.

Bev showed us a Stack and Whack that she had just completed.

Victoria was cutting out a bag from this gorgous

Tastes for all Seasons fabric.

Jenny was the only one working on the actual class project.

Cindy was completing the mitred corners from a class earlier in the year.

Sorry Cindy no photo.

Technique Class

Late last month I was privileged to tutor a workshop for the

Mornington Peninsula Patchworkers.

Many had asked for a technique class on foundation piecing.

Some really bright fabrics including these hand dyes from a previous class

and some batiks were among students collections for the class.

At the end of the day everyone had completed more than one block.

And had not only learned about foundation piecing

but also curved piecing which many had been avoiding.

Although everyone had totally different fabrics

they would all look great in the one quilt.

Through out the day Christine our workshop co-ordinator

was working on her own projects, including this very cute little apron

for her Grand-daughter.

Another getaway

A couple of weeks ago we travelled to Robertsons Beach to catch up with friends.

Arriving at dusk, we were just in time for this most spectacular sunset.

Not really a beach as you would expect, but an inlet

with get views across the water from the house. And an abundance of bird life,

I could only get a small percentage of these black swans in the photo.

A very tranquil and peaceful setting, the perfect spot for a getaway.

Even if it was only one night.
