Decisions & Choices! - December 9th, 2016
Before I get left behind too far with the mystery quilt which is already
at the 2nd week, I had to decide on fabrics.
This year I really wanted to use something different from the suggested colours.
Finally I am going with this as my constant
and I should have enough if I want to use this for the binding
depending how big it ends up,
as for the remaining fabric selection they will be chosen as needed.
I’ll spend a few hours this afternoon stitching these units together
and hopefully some of the four patch from week one.
Using my trusty little Husqvarna from the seventies.
New Projects & Fabric Sorting! - December 2nd, 2016
Its that time of year when my sewing rooms needs to be reorganized,
to sort the fabric stash and to play prepare for new projects
in the new year.
These have been pulled from the stash, for something in the not too far future.
Its also that time of the year that many of us start a mystery quilt.
Not sure of my colourway yet, as I’m wanting to use something different
from the suggested colour palate.
Although I did grab these from my neutral fat quarters,
but won’t go with the brights.
Hopefully will have made my mind up before the next clue.
AQM – Australian Quilt Market! - November 24th, 2016
Last weekend was spent at AQM,
catching up with lots of lovely store owners
and meeting new ones from here in Australia & overseas.
One of my latest designs “Primrose Manor” was on display
created from the latest Tilda range “Bumblebee”.
Also new, “Floribunda” – tote.
Will post more of my new designs over the next few days.
Finished quilts & Show and Tell! - October 31st, 2016
It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of October
and yet we still need the heater going.
Overnight temps as low as 3°C with rain, hail and some places snow.
The perfect weather to be inside stitching.
This quilt just back from the quilter needs to be bound.
And another day, another quilt that needs binding.
A close up of the stunning quilting, by Jennifer at Lily Lane.
Another very pretty version of Winter Blooms, with the applique completed.
Some wildlife from the Aussie bush, where we are staying.
The kangaroo has a joey in her pouch but unfortunately didn’t come out for us to see.
The magpies are residents that we see all the time.

We also had show and tell with this bright and cheerful version
of Winter Blooms. Love to see my designs in totally
different colours and fabrics and this one makes me smile.
Now on Instagram! - September 13th, 2016
Look who now is on Instagram.
In a previous post, I was making this quilt.
Quilt, pattern and photo now completed.
Jardin Parisien pattern & kit now available at The Patchwork Tea House.
Weekend Workshop/Lily Lane! - August 9th, 2016
Winter Blooms has been very popular this year, with another fun weekend
planned here at Lily Lane in Rosedale.
In this huge classroom and plenty of table space,
everyone has lots of space to spread out without being cramped.
Along with the fun and laughter, lots of new techniques were learnt
and soon 3D petals and flowers started to appear.
Thank you ladies for the fun weekend, would love to see your quilts.
Camellia Blooms! - July 31st, 2016
Just a short post today,
I wanted to share these stunning camellia flowers
that were gifted to me yesterday from a friend.
Stunningly beautiful large double flowers,
so heavy the stems can hardly hold them up.
One flower fell off in the car coming home,
it fits perfectly in this vintage glass bowl.
Feeling totally spoilt.
